I know that the older thicker 1/4 inch one seems to be more desirable but how does the thinner rubber mat compare to let's say the Herbies Audio way excellent II mat ? Witryna18 kwi 2014 · I think I licked the aluminium platter problem by using (i) an Audioquest sorbothane mat to alleviate the platter's ringing and (ii) a thin Herbies "Way Excellent II" mat to alleviate the deleterious effect of the sorbothane on sound quality. Of course you have to readjust VTA to accommodate two mats. Tedrick.
