WebMay 30, 2015 · I love my m1 specially for top water baits , it has plenty of back bone i feel the sweet spot for the rod is 2 1/2 oz too 3oz . I had no problems swinging a 8lb plus fish in the boat with the rod. I've been throwing slammers, TT's and roman made tricks and negotiators on one for about 2 years now. absolutely love it. no issues.

Great dropshot rod that works for other finesse presentations, and small crankbaits as well. I'll even chunk small topwaters on it. Everything I've heard about the Recon has been that it performs above its price range. I was about to buy one until I started considering the M1. Fishing swimbaits, I never want a moderate action. Its Perfect for 2-4oz baits, used three different reels with it and its been very comfortable with all of them.
